2009 Season winds up at Manitouwadge Golf Course
Marathon team wins gross at Manitouwadge golf tournament

It seems the best was saved for last as Manitouwadge’s 2009 golf season
wrapped up this weekend with the annual Manitouwadge Golf Club
3-person best ball tournament and the first and only tournament this season not to have been affected by rainy weather.
14 teams, including players who came from Marathon, Kirkland Lake and as far as Oshawa, Ontario
enjoyed 2 days of ideal golfing conditions. Cash awards were distributed Sunday evening and included the following presentations; Closest to Hole #3 Trevor Patterson; Closest to Hole #6 Scott Myles; Most Accurate Terri Tuomi, Most Accurate on Hole #8 Dan Paré; 2nd Tournament Colin Quade. Winning teams, each presented with $600.00 in cash were 1st in Gross team of: Marc Amadeo, Brad Lowndes, and Paul Bain and Lori McKay’s team for 1st in Net. 2nd place teams receiving $400.00 each were Toby Mateson’s team for 2nd in Gross and Gail Isaacs team for 2nd in net.
Marc Amadeo took the opportunity when presented with his winnings to thank organizers and participants on behalf of his team who had traveled from Marathon to compete. Those assembled joined Amadeo in a round of applause directed at kitchen staff who had served a delicious prime rib supper catered by F.P. Gorges & Sons. Gail Isaacs also thanked Joan Gauthier, Vivian Cowley and Jim MacEachern who had organized the event in a matter of weeks.
