Remember

Tomorrow is Cathy Nickerson’s funeral and I am not at all looking forward to it. Although I know ‘closure’ is something we need when dealing with the loss of someone special but I would have preferred to see her children for a much happier occasion. I did not realize at Christmas when she passed away that she would not be laid to rest until now and did try to sort things out in my own heart/head and with plenty of prayer, said Goodbye in my own way so this is almost like re-opening an old wound.

You might ask ‘why go then?’. Well, I feel like I owe her at least that much respect. Cathy was always available to listen, give advice (never doing the latter without my specifically asking as she was not a pushy or intrusive person) or just lighten the mood of a gloomy day.  I am praying for strength and that God might give her family comfort and strength as tomorrow will most certainly be a very difficult day for them.

With young Steven Phillipe’s passing still so recent, then Mr. Robichaud (another person taken to young he has 3 beautiful daughters that have been left to greive), and others I am unfortunately forgetting it seems Manitouwadge has lost too many very important people this year already. My prayers and thoughts to the families of each, may you find strength and comfort in the memories of what special, vibrant people your loved ones were.
