MHS Jr.Boys Vball

Well, school hadn’t even started yet and the guys who are this year’s Manitouwadge High School Junior Volleyball team were already pacticing every day. The junior team looks great again this year; northshore teams – lookout – NSSSAA is already in their sights! It did seem odd to be missing the boys that have moved on to gr.11 this year and are now seniors.

Lloyd is still recovering from having chipped a peice of bone off his foot at the end of July and I’m more & more concerned every day as it is still causing him a great deal of pain. (he’s not complaining about it but anytime he walks to much, like at Intercity this weekend for example) When we returned to Manitouwadge General Hospital for what was supposed to be cast/removal + xray 2 weekends ago, the locum who saw Lloyd didn’t bother to xray again and I’m not sure why this is the case but it is bothering me a great deal as the first 2 x-rays really looked bad. He said that if he ‘took it easy’ he “should” be fine but I wonder  now what exactly that was supposed to mean. I’m going to ask for it to be x-rayed this week and have them sent to the Sports-medicine clinic in Thunder Bay. I do not want this injury to become any worse than it is or affect his sports any longer (he was registered for 2 volleball camps aug 24-28 and did not go because of the state of his injury).

Anyways, I’ve gone way off topic. This was supposed to be about the junior boys team as a whole which seems to be a great bunch of kids. They do seem hungry for competition and eager to play. The coaches are lucky to have such an enthusiastic, committed, talented group of young men and the boys are blessed to have coaches that were willing to end their vacation practicing with them. It’s going to be a great volleyball season, will keep you posted here when they start playing competetively so check back often!
