Correction
If you read the post titled “Wadgefest” date July 4, 2009 I was referring to being thrilled that pop & glow sticks would be sold at the community bonfire with funds going to the Manitouwadge Cancer Assistance Group. Those items ARE apparently going to be sold (according to the flyer we all received) however the funds are NOT going towards the Mtwdge Cancer Assistance Group.
The group IS working the door at the dance on Sat night as well as a BBQ Sunday so go out and support those events or I’m sure they accept donations outside of these events as well as they help many local people battling cancer and can always use more funds! Sorry about any confusion this may have caused, have a great weekend everyone!
ON ANOTHER NOTE…
My print order for the Silent Auction tomorrow will not arrive on time. I spent the entire morning on the phone trying to figure out how it ended up in Barrie, Ontario. Regardless of the how or why (I am so upset, angry, frustrated) the bottom line is that the prints will not arrive until August 10th (completely useless other then having wasted a whole lot of $$ that I didn’t have to waste).
I am going to put a framed set of prints together having promised the Humane Society that I would have something for them. Unfortunately what i had ordered were many prints 20×24, 12×18, and sizes in between of the Relay for Life opening walk, Nature shots and other local events, I spent the WHOLE week preparing for this that I would have my binder ready with prints from this year’s community/regional events that ppl could order… I think I will have the binder available anyways (though with much fewer pages) and will be there for at least the hour I promised Lulu but again. This is so disappointing. I am going to approach the person(s) in charge of the Memorial golf tournament later this month as I know they have a silent auction and perhaps I could re-schedule all this for then… Will keep you posted. LOL, that’s my phone ringing and the good Lord sent me some encouraging news just as I needed it :). It seems that next weekend, when I was trying to figure out how to afford going to Anishnabe KeeshigunI have an MRI on the Sunday 🙂 🙂 🙂 It is at 4:30 (end of the afternoon) so it will kind of mess up the end of day when last year there was Susan Aglukark singing (I think this year Buffy St.Marie might be performing) so a little disappointing that we may miss that but still awesome that we will be there for the rest of the weekend with a bit of financial compensation for the travel at least 🙂 WOOHOO! God is good 🙂 just when it seemed everything was going wrong, something worked out.
