Century of Flight, personal comments
Will be working on my article shortly but for now just had to make a quick post. Our day was GREAT. Before heading out we went by Grandpapa’s house to ask him one more time if he wanted to come along (he had declined earlier in the morning) and we were really happy when he jumped in the van.
The kids were wonderful, Lloyd was in such a great mood, super helpful and just being a great person all around. He enjoyed himself thouroughly, really found all the planes interesting, as did his Grandpapa – yet another interest they share. Emeraude was a doll. She had a good time too and was a trooper as it was such a long day for her.
Funny fact: I had called the Chronicle this morning and they said that there was someone from Marathon covering it but press priviledges were not required. I figured I cover it for HunterBlog but also called the Echo to see if they were heading out, they were not and so Bunny was happy to hear I would be there. now for the funny part the lady who was there for the chronicle heard Lloyd talking shop about the planes with Gr.Papa and interviewed him (Lloyd) and stuff. SO even whith someone else covering it, my kids are still involved. lol
I do have photos to submit to the Chronicle in spite of someone else covering it as she seemed to have left and did not even cover John landing and being welcomed and such SOooo… I must end now, download my pics and see what I can send off to the CJournal as I’d imagine they want to be running this in the morning.
Will post photos and a proper article shortly so check back soon, for now here are a few (the photos on runway in Marathon, when they disembarked are exclusive as I was the only press there who knew John from previously having worked with him when he was doing Wings Over Canada 🙂 which felt pretty neat. Reminded me that I do have some network established… The past year has been such a challenge vis-à-vis medical issues interfering w/work that I had almost forgotten.
