Cupcakes for party
I got the idea for these cupcakes from MarthaStewart.com and Emeraude was very excited about it. I was unable to find shoestring licorice, or anything similar, for antennas and am hoping that we figure something out for the 2nd half which we hope to share when iced.
We opted to use a mix for the cupcakes. Following the instructions to the letter, we chose to use the more elabourate ingredient options when offered a choice, to ensure the cupcakes would be delicious. The icing we made ourselves, using my favourite recipe. The recipe is in my memory and not on paper but basically, it is this:

1 cup butter (creamed)

1 cup crisco

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp almond extract

tbsps of cream or milk
-
icing sugar (1kg bag)
This will make several cups of icing which can keep in the fridge for several days but be sure to have it well sealed.
