Birthday Piñata

I bought the pump hoping it would allow her to blow the balloons up herself (she has often tried but it is difficult to do so with your mouth so young). It doesn't work terribly well, the tip is too small for most balloons but we made it happen.

Saturday, we begun working on yet another piñata! Emeraude is a HUGE fan of piñatas, and any occasion will do – we made our 1st (I think) at Christmas for her Nursery School and then another at Easter.

After much debate over the past few weeks, Emeraude finally decided that this one would be a dog. Not necessarily well suited for the shape but we’ll figure it out as we go lol (I had wanted to make a bee but she through her title around – birthday girl of course – and I had to give in 🙂 ).

These photos are from our first session. Grandmaman had stopped by to bring me the newspaper, this worked out well as we took out the page I needed and began cutting up the rest. I will post more photos very soon, as we have progressed quite a bit since these ones.

piñata paste: equal parts water + flour, mix well

I’d love to hear about anyone else’s piñata experiences – what did you make, how did it go, any tips? post your two cents, they’re always welcome!
