Description: Regularly scheduled apointment with my family doctor.
Start Time: 13:00
Date: 2009-04-24
The appointment went very well. Dr. Crawford is very patient which helps keep me from getting flustered and forgetful. Of course I forgot a few things (as usual) and am uncertain as to what exactly is being done about a few others but for the most part it felt like the appointment was constructive.
A few things of concern:
· Haven’t had my period since nov.08
· Still not responding to oral meds
· ESR (inflamation marker) was high but no where near the 70 of Nov.
· Low sodium on my Apr.27th blood work
· continued intense bone pain
· B12 injection, alhtough I do not have low B12 I am going to begin monthly injections to see if they may help w/fatigue
· new blood work ordered for after my May 5th app. w/Dr.Roddy (rheumatologist)
All in all I feel like Dr. Crawford is on the same page as me which is so important with a family doctor. I do not agree w/ his thoughts regarding my joint problems, I believe that they are a multiple sclerosis symptom while he feels they are caused by some other illness or medical issue which is why he has referred me to yet another rheumatologist. I am smart enough to respect his medical opinion though and so will not decline anything he wants to look into (unless there were some awful side effects or cost of money or time).
I am going to pull the wheelchair out of the garage and get it cleaned up I have been using the one at the hospital whenever I go for pain meds, mostly because of pain but also because of weakness at times. My arms are bothering me more this week than recently. My shoulders however have been ok since the solumedrol which is great because they are really a challenge when painful. When they bother me it feels like my arm is not sitting in the shoulder socket properly, I loose range of motion and have to contort myself alot to be able to raise an arm.
I called the accupuncturist, today. She isn’t working out of the clinic in Marathon as I had beleived which bothers me. She is a registered massasge therapist (we have one of those here, and she is really awesome but I could not find a way to have it covered) and does not mention any specific accreditation in regards to the accupuncture on her message. I am waiting for her to return my call but am quite disheartened as it seems she is not at all what I had thought and having accupuncture is the only option I’ve been able to think up to the dilaudid injections I’m currently receiving.
