Acupuncture Day!
Friday morning, the sun is shining; both the kids woke up in great moods and are now at school. At lunch, Emeraude and I are getting a ride to Marathon with Mom for my first acupuncture session.
I’m a little nervous, spoke with the acupuncturist, Jennifer Bott, yesterday and she advised me that we would be starting slow because at times, when people are too aggressively treated in the initial sessions, they can find themselves quite worn out. With my fatigue issues, this is causing me some (quite a bit) anxiety although obviously not enough to keep me from trying the acupuncture.
I am hoping photos will be easy to take and am going to bring a copy of Fytness Fanatiks for the acupuncturist and encourage her to submit some content to Amanda. Since deciding to try acupuncture as a treatment for my MS symptoms I have received so many questions from people. I had thought that acupuncture was more main-stream and commonly used/practiced treatment for many ailments but, it would seem, at least in my small circle of peers, that it is still something that people do not immediately consider when falling ill or dealing with chronic illness.
I am really interested in smoking cessation with the help of acupuncture as well. I won’t be asking to do it as of yet, as reducing my multiple sclerosis symptoms is my priority but I will definitely be asking Jennifer about it.
…must get to the hospital for an injection, more when I return
That was at 10h40, it is now 11h15; 35 minutes later and I have literally just returned. Thanks to Kathleen Cormier who was thoughtful enough to offer me a ride home or I would have been much longer. The taxi had to leave, mornings are busy for them and they (the taxi) are responsible for transporting the children with special needs to and from school so it was not possible for her to wait more than 15 minutes and had let me know that she would then be busy for some time with the kids. The hospital was not busy (Check that – there was no one else in emergency, obviously that does not mean they were not working) regardless of the reasons added to this morning’s visit (at which the nurse had also dealt with me as fast as is possible with the way I am currently being processed at the hospital) I have already lost nearly an hour and a half of my morning and because I am not able to rush around the house when I am running behind, well I will soon be on my way to Marathon without having taken care of everything that I needed to take care of…
…back from picking up Emeraude, must hurry to get washed, finish her hair & get on the road
