another pinata
Easter is quickly on it’s way and of course Emeraude’s Nursery School will be having a special day that week. At Christmas, Emeraude had wanted to make a pinata for her school’s Christmas party, we made a Santa head, it was great, alot of fun and learning in the process so we are now making one for Easter (I have yet to warn her teacher and am hoping it will be alright).
The last one had some issues. Like being on a MUCH too short cord so that it was difficult to hold it and still be out of reach of the bat lol. The kids I think will enjoy this one more having seen last time what we do with a pinata (some were reluctant to whack at it last time).
So happy my girl is home. She seems to have had a very good time at her Dad’s last night. Between being dropped off from church and his sis coming home unfortunately Lloyd made some not great choices and so we aren’t going to the ski hill today (although I still must get my camcorder cables and bag that I left last week) but hopefully we will still be able to include him in some fun today.
We will be bagging the treats into individual bags for each Nursery School friend after our open candy last time was a bit of an issue. There were no problems with anyone being selfish, they each wanted their friends to enjoy what they had, the problem was that since the candies were so easy to access, there were some little ones who were into the chocolate before we could even react and of course this is not helpful to the teachers who like to keep things orderly and relatively mellow lol.
Just one thing to note in this pinata’s beginnings; it would have been wise to wait for blowing up the balloon as we had to blow a 2nd, bigger one realizing that the bags certainly could not fit in our first balloon. Here is our 1st layer of paper mache.
