Living, january 09

It’s been a long weekend but really good.  I will come back some time this week and add to this post about what kept us busy. Emeraude’s Dad was home from work in Kapuskasing and seems to have gotten over the odd state of mind that the holidays had him in.

This meant that she finally had him accompany us skiing as he rented skiis to join us on Saturday. She had been very much wanting this and so I was so happy for her. She is becoming a really confident skier as her skills continue to improve by leaps and bounds. She skiis on her own very well, able to snow plow, turn and stop very successfully! She can easily manage the beginner hill next to the chalet completely on her own with me ownly following and reminding her to turn & snow plow. She skiis the last 100 feet or so straight down and turns quite sharply at the bottom into the tow line which is a little unerving to watch as I am unsure every time whether she intends to turn or will go straight through but she always turned in without any issue/problems.

Lloyd skied Saturday and Sunday and Matt slept over on Saturday night so that was cool for him.  He did a ton of laundry and I was mostly just folding it as he brought it back up to the main floor clean which of course was super helpful! I’m not sure at this point what his room might look like but feel like his weekend should have him set to really put pen to paper and work well this week on his studies.

The two of us, Lloyd & I, enjoyed some time together while Emeraude was busy with Daddy. We got alot of work done around the house and I was very happy with getting the floors washed on the main floor and Emeraude’s room really cleaned up.

It’s now Sunday and Emerude is sleeping at Daddy’s again as he leaves in the morning for 2 weeks working in Kap (about 3.5 hours away).  I was thrilled tonight when I received a call from an old friend, Rob Jette. He was a big part of our life while Lloyd and I lived in Kap so it’s kind of funny timing that he would be getting in touch now that Daniel’s working there (although Rob is now in southern Ontario).  It was so neat to hear his voice and what he’s up to these days and just touch base after about 8 years. Hope we won’t wait another 8 years to speak again lol.  It was also good timing as with Emeraude away I didn’t have to worry about how long I was on the phone and I think we probably spoke for more than a half hour (that’s a long time for me to be on the phone!)

will come back to this another day soon.
