Ski hill still closed, no public skating
Well, that pretty much sums up the mood I’m in lol. The Kiwissa Ski hill originally had a start date of Dec. 20th, it is now 9 days later and no word of the hill opening. I am uncertain as to the accuracy of what I’ve been told but basically it was that now, with the snow maker (which they had running full steam for at least a week I think) it is absolutely necessary, because of the way the snow is blown onto the hill, that the snow be packed, unfortunately the problem that arrose was that the packer was not working – eeeesh – our poor volunteers seem to have their hands full this season! Don’t know about this little bit either but I heard that as of last week the t-bars were not even up 😐 .
As for the arena, there was public skating scheduled for this past Saturday which was cancelled for the Copper Kings Alumni charity game (which was pretty great) and now the Rec Centre is open but no public skate scheduled until tomorrow… 🙁
Lloyd has a trip to visit a local fox family on the sled planned with Emeraude, if it’s not too far into the trails I may walk in for some photos. Will have to get more info from Lloyd.
