Time @ MGH
thursday seems like such a blurr
I’m just so releived I survived it. I won’t go into the details of my morning as I would rather just blab about the positive stuff… Needless to say it was exhausting and I was just so thankful that Emeraude was with Shirley so I knew she was having a good time. I bawled so much my eyes are still (it’s now friday night) poofy.
Anyhow, fast forward to Thursday night
7:30pm
What a sight
to see Sheryl, Mary & Mrs. Bourgeois (my memory is failing me)were there when I walked in. It was such a relief seeing them, I felt like someone had just lifted a truck off my shoulders!!
Sheryl sent me to the observation room right away (yipeeee tv!)
and I got comfortable unpacking my laptop and such… She already had the stuff in there for my IV (see pic). I was absolutely exhausted but now, having seen who I would be spending the evening with was feeling so much stronger (at least mentally).
So… lickety split Sheryl had my IV put in faster than I could say it… I’m always curious to see them do it but can’t bring myself to watch so this time I video’d it to be able to watch it after. Well, I’ve watched it now Hyperlink to click here if to watch it and she was TOO fast – *giggle* you can barely even catch it even watching the video! lol I had brought my laptop and got some work done. Not enough to keep me distracted though so thankfully Sheryl was back often keeping me company *smile* and even helped me get Mary and Mrs. Bourgeois (still drawing a blank on her 1st name – sorry!!)in the room so we could sabotage her with photos HAHAHa!
TWICE i thought hmmm, maybe i’d like…
well the 1st time it was coffee and she was in the room with it before i’d even finished the thought! haha (holy moly, psychic too!!!) and the 2nd time i was coming in from a smoke and thinking crackers would be yummy as Sheryl walked along side to tell me “I was going to bring you some crackers if you’d like some” WHAT???? I WAS JUST THINKING THAT! So I told her what I had been thinking and she smiled and said that she knew i liked them – yeah but memorizing what patients like to snack on and how they like the coffee is most certainly NOT in the job description!! But GEE-WHIZ it certainly does feel good to have someone taking such care of you! I felt so special and important 🙂 🙂 🙂
Anyhow, before I knew it I was done, Sheryl wrapped me up and had me on my way.
Saturday night

SHIFT CHANGE Woohoo! the new nurse let me get settled in the obs room and came back to let me know it was shift change so in about 15 minutes Mary would be coming in to take care of everything *big goofy grin* I’m so spoiled – lol – i’m sure i must’ve been pouting before she told me haha but was feeling great to know that MY Mary was coming to take care of me!! hee hee Token was still there from her day shift too (Mary would show her the IVIg procedures and stuff which was kind of neat because she’s pretty funny and I haven’t had the chance to talk to her much.
So, nothing much to report about tonight’s treatment… I’m hoping it’ll kick in soon – last time (beginning of may) that I had this 3 time IVIg it was like a miracle cure it worked so well but so far I’m still dealing with a lot of pain and weakness in my legs/hands wondering if the neurologist was right (really hoping he was wrong) that the 1st time was coincidence how fast & well I felt better.
Mary was awesome, I got a lot of my work done (before my laptop quit on me i had forgot the plug-in), Mrs. Bourgeois was there too as well as another nurse that I really like but couldn’t remember any piece of her name while I was there or now… Got to talk with Mary (she’s a great listener) and get some life advice from her (ever notice you never have enough time to talk to the people who’s advice you WANT *sigh*)
I was soooo tired but it was really nice when I came home that Daniel stuck around and to watch tv and hang out for the evening… around 11pm we had a little woman ask to come to Mommy’s bed and so Daddy lay next to her *xoxo* she didn’t fall asleep until he finally gave up and told her he had to go (he’s working this morning) around 1am (as if he isn’t tired enough this past week!). Of course without the excitement of Daddy in bed she pretty much fell asleep right away lol.
