Marathon Volunteers Collect More Than $10,000 in Donations For Food Bank
MARATHON, ON – The 2013 Marathon Trick or Eat was a great success last night (Oct.31.2013) as Organizer Karen Richard was joined by a total of 49 volunteers. The volunteers helped to set up at the Town Hall, canvassed door to door, and provided transportation for the canvassers and to deliver the non-perishable donations to the food bank for sorting.
The volunteers collected approximately 4,024 or approximately $10,060 of food, toiletries or basic household supplies for the Marathon Food Bank. “We are the little town with Big results. Way to go Marathon!“ commented Karen Richard, very pleased with the results. Richard also thanked all those involved, both in collecting and donating.
This was Richard’s 4th year organizing Marathon’s Trick or Eat event, since the first in 2009 approximately 16,206 food items have been collected with an estimated retail value totalling $39,715.00.
