MANITOUWADGE, ON – A group of parents in Manitouwadge recently launched “Rubber Duck Hockey”, a parent attended ice time during which parents or caregivers take to the ice with their children to skate and play with hockey sticks. Both pucks and rubber ducks are available for attendees to use and there are usually a few games set up to practice specific skills (when attending, don’t tell the kids they are learning, they’ve been having too much fun to notice) like shooting accuracy and stick handling.

For just $7/evening, children can learning how to skate or use a stick at their own pace, meet friends with similar interests and receive one-on-one attention from their favourite coaches – Mom or Dad.  Parents who either don’t have skates or aren’t comfortable on the ice are not required to skate however they must be present, supervising their child.

Join the fun Friday evenings from 5:30 – 6:30pm, your child should bring: skates, a helmet and a hockey stick. No registration is required however their is a $7 cover charge (please remit payment to Nickie Chik or Kerri Jackson before getting on the ice)

There are only a couple Friday’s left before the holidays so be sure to go to the Manitouwadge Rec Centre Arena this week to join the fun.
