MANITOUWADGE, ON – June 13th Grade 3-8 students from Our Lady of Lourdes school competed in their annual Track & Field Day under sunny skies after originally being rescheduled due to rain the day prior.
The students competed with great sportsmanship and enthusiasm and their teachers along with the parents and volunteers in attendance were very proud of their performance. Those in the top 3 of each category’s division, for example Shot Putt for 9-10 years of age or High Jump for 11-12 years of age, would compete again June 19th at Our Lady of Lourdes Annual Invitational Track & Field Day at which students from accross the Superior North Catholic School Board and neighbouring schools from outside the board would be competing.
Throughout the day, students from Junior and Senior Kindergarten as well as the Grades 1 and 2 students also visited the track and field site to watch their siblings and peers compete. The school also thanks parent council and volunteers who had BBQ, snacks and refreshments available throughout the day.
