Manitouwadge Councillor Gives Ecycle Program Thumbs Up
MANITOUWADGE, ON – Sunday, June 26th, Ecycle came to Manitouwadge (as originally announced here) as part of their Northern Ontario Tour, giving residents an opportunity to dispose of their used, damaged or outdated electronics while deverting them from the town landfill.
Many residents took advantage of the opportunity, receiving RecycleYourElectronics.ca branded key chains, frizbees and flashlights in appreciation of their recycling efforts. Among those who ‘Drove up, Dropped off & Did Good’ was Manitouwadge Town Council Member Connie Hunter. Councillor Hunter also spoke on camera, while at the drop-off site, to one of the ecycle representatives potentially promoting the community worldwide as RecycleYourElectronics.ca followed-up by publishing the brief video interview with Councillor Hunter (embedded below) to its Youtube channel, www.YouTube.com/ecycleOntario. Councillor Hunter was very pleased to have the tour visit the community “I think it was a great opportunity to drop off electronics so they don’t end up in a landfill” said Hunter who was also glad that he program took efforts one step further, recycling the electronics’ components.
The tour continues in Northern Ontario and will be in Atikokan July 6th, Dryden July 8th and 9th, it returns to our area July 26th with stops in:
