MANITOUWADGE, ON – During the early hours of this morning, Manitouwadge residents were being barraged by rain, wind (97km gale-force winds recorded at Manitouwadge Airport), thunder and lightening and as the community began to wake up it became clear that plenty of damage had been done.
At the airport the wind sock had been torn from its cement base, power was out for more than a day and repairs will continue, says Fire Chief Owen Cranney for many weeks or even months ahead.
