The students present to the grade 4 / 5 and grade 8 classes with Public Health Nurse Shirley Saasto-Stopyra.
MANITOUWADGE, ON – Three students were given the opportunity to attend a Handwashing Workshop conducted by PHN Shirley Saasto- Stopyra on Wednesday Nov 24th . They were taught about strategies to help stay healthy & keep from getting sick – such as washing their hands & covering their coughs & sneezes. After practice & being treated to a pizza lunch these peer leaders will now facilitate a teaching session with each class in the school within the next 2 weeks.
These student presenters will leave a teachers package with each class to assist them to reinforce some of the messages delivered during the session. They were directed to the Thunder Bay District Health Unit’s website where resources are also available to them and the general public. Keep up the good work girls and we’re looking forward to seeing you as our future journalists! Good job – well done!
