NDP statement on South Korean trade deal
“The Canada-South Korea trade deal opens up new markets for makers of ice wine and pork producers, but it will be a blow to the made-in-Ontario auto sector. It is starting to seem like Ottawa and Ontario are prepared to kill off good auto jobs in this province. Kathleen Wynne fumbled talks with Chrysler on new investment, putting thousands of good jobs at risk. Now our auto sector has been sold out by Ottawa for a trade deal with South Korea,” said NDP Economic Development critic Catherine Fife.
